Alternate Doses Of 40mg And 60 Mg Of Strattera Daily Can Be Taken?
My son has been taking 40 mg of strattera daily. We just got a rate increase to 60mg because his teachers were noticing him having difficulty in class. We dont have insurance and just paid $253 for 40mg and have a script for 60mg....would it be ok if we did alternating doses until the 40 s are gone?
While I can't give you any official advice to take a medication different than how it is prescribed, and while taking alternative doses of 40 and 60 mg will of course not have the same effect as taking 60 mg every day.
Your idea of alternating the doses in order not to waste the 40 mg tablets sounds reasonable to me.
Once the 40 mg tablets have all been used, you can then start the 60 mg tablets every day.
I'm not sure if the Strattera tablets are able to be cut in half, but if they are, another option might be to take one and a half tablets every day.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
