Can Zinc Supplements Cause Green Stool In Infants?
Question: Can zinc supplement cause greenish stool in infants?
Brief Answer:
Unlikely to be the cause
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing this.
Usually zinc is very safe.
It doesn't cause greenish stools.
At the most can cause some cramps, vomiting that too in overdose.
At usual recommended doses it is very safe.
It is better to consult with your pediatrician to rule out other causes like viral infection or food poisoning which can cause green stools.
No need to stop zinc.
Infact it will improve the stools.
Wishing your child good health and speedy recovery.
