Child Fell Down While Playing. Noticed Blister On Inner Labia And Hurts When Urinating. What To Do?
Question: Ou 7 year old daughter fell on the playground yesterday onto a horizontal metal bar. It seems to be a straddle injury. She has a blister on her inner labia and a bruise that is decreasing in size on her outer labia. She complained of pain during urination yesterday but has said it is improving a bit today. She has had no blood in her urine. I am wondering if she should see the doctor tomorrow or if we should just continue with ice and rest. Thank you.
Hi ,
Thank you for your query.
I can understand your concern.
Apply ice pack locally and give her acetminophen for the pain.
Local bruising can be dealt with a thrombophob gel like ointment.
Your should consult your doctor if your complains of:
Increasing pain.
Inability to walk.
Retention of urine or difficulty in urination.
Bleeding from somewhere.
Abdominal pain or swelling.
Otherwise your child should recover in a few days time.
Consult your doctor if the problem persists.
If you have any further queries you are free to consult me.
Hope this answers your query.
Wishing a speedy recovery.
Have a nice day.
