Child Getting Foam In Mouth While Sleeping. Reason?
Question: Why would a child, age 5, have foam in their mouth sometimes while sleeping?
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
Kindly answer these questions.
1.Is it foam or saliva?
2.Does he have good oral hygiene?
3.Does he take some sweet food items before going to sleep?
4.Does he have any other problem other than this?
Children usually have salivation at night. It aggravates if he has associated nose block or he is a mouth breather. It also happens if he has poor oral hygiene. Kindly see that his nose is clean and open at night. Brush his teeth and use a mouth wash before he goes to sleep. If he still foams or has excessive secretion, consult a pediatrician.
