Child Having Wetting Problem. Refusing To Eat. Suggest A Solution?
Hello
Detailed Answer:
Welcome to XXXXXXX
Bed wetting in night or nocturnal eneuresis is a common problem in children. In a lot of children such type of presentation is associated with severe anxiety. He is also showing other clinical features of anxiety like he is very rigid in meals. I would advise strongly to take him to a Psychiatrist for evaluation. Discuss with his mother and try to convince her that bed wetting is not normal. Some children show the symptoms due to loss of confidence because of repeated bed wetting.
Treatment of bed wetting is easy and include both medicinal and psychological methods.
Medicines like Imipramine are very useful in bed wetting. The condition improves in a week or two.
Behavioral methods include Alarm Pad Method. There is a sensitive pad attached with alarm. When child passes urine the sensitive pad detects wetness and alarm rings and wakes up the child. In about a week child learns to wake up even before passing urine. Other method is to make a diary of timing of wetting. In most children the timing of bed wetting is fixed. Try to wake up him just before the time in night.
Try these methods and you will see improvement in him.
Hope I cleared your doubt, if you have more questions you can ask again.
