Constipation Feeling, Abdominal Bloating, Painful Anus Inspite Of Regular Bowel Movements. Suggestion?
Thank you for the query.
The most common reason of constipation at your age is diet. Lack of fiber XXXXXXX products, lack of mineral water intake, fatty foods, no physical activity are most probable factors of constipation. Diet should be considered as first reason of your symptoms. Other known reasons are chronic bacterial infection, medicines ( antidepressants, ca-blockers), thyroid diseases, large intestine diseases like polyps or cancer (less possible at your age).
Hemorrhoids are a result of constipation. Getting rid of constipation will help with hemorrhoids.
I suggest you to follow this steps:
- Increase increase fiber XXXXXXX products, mineral water intake, physical activity;
- Avoid fatty foods;
- Do not push hard on stool, use stool softener if necessary;
- Wash your rectum after every stool;
- OTC suppositories for hemorrhoids should be also helpful.
Such treatment should help in a week or so. If it wont, you should have some diagnostics. Abdominal ultrasound, blood work, thyroid tests and stool test should be first. Next should be colonoscopy.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards
I feel quite bloated at the moment but there are no 'sinister' symptoms like blood in stool or otherwise which is hopefully a good sign? I am a little worried though so hopefully should feel a change in a week or so?
Will suppositiories help with the sensation of 'stickiness'?
Kind regards
So you should not be worried (stress will make your bowel movements even worse) and follow mentioned steps.
Suppositories should help with hemorrhoids symptoms. Stickiness can be the symptom of hemorrhoid, however it may be also caused by constipation. So yes, suppositories can be helpful with this symptom especially if you will follow other mentioned steps as well.
Hope this will help.
Regards.
