Continue To Suffer From Breathing Difficulties From Middle Of Stomach, Constant Stomach Pains, Panic Attacks. Is Breathing Related To Acid Reflux ?

Thank you for posting your query.
I am medical doctor, an associate in Department of Gastroenterolgy, working with an experienced Gastroenterologist. I answer on his behalf.
I have to mention about the ambiguous nature of your query.
I presume your query is about
1) Excessive yawning to get a XXXXXXX breath and not always being able to get the full yawn out.
2) Lower stomach feeling like bronchial tubes are not filling completely to get a satisfying breath, you keep sighing a lot as well to breath.
Hence I answer accordingly. If my presumption is wrong, please let me know so that I can correct during my reply.
Your problem seems to be very simple and easily treated. I have to say you this, Celexa causes you to yawn excessively. You may just try stopping this medication for the moment and you may notice that your problem with yawning may completely disappear. Again, please confirm if you already stopped taking Celexa 2 months ago.
You have a pre-existing Gastric acid reflux and gastritis. Of course, this causes difficulty in breathing and may be troublesome for you to handle.
My suggestion to you would be to continue taking Ranitidine now, discuss about stopping Celexa for some time with your treating doctor. Let the gastritis subside, meanwhile your problem of excessive yawning will also subside. You may talk to your Psychiatrist regarding other drugs for treating the panic attacks which cause less sedation and less yawning.
3) Is there anything I can do for immediate relief?
Excessive yawning cannot be stopped immediately, but you may consider continuing on Ranitidine for the gastritis to subside.
4) Should I have my bronchial tubes looked at as well?
Yes, it is better to get it checked.
Finally, I would suggest you to consult a good Psychiatrist who can help you out with a better medicine for panic attack and he will also treat you for gastritis which is very minor problem.
Please do get back to me in case of clarifications and further queries.
Regards,

1. Excessive yawning to get a XXXXXXX breath and not always being able to get the full yawn out. This has occurred twice every time I stop taking the celexa or zoloft these symptoms reoccur after two months of me stopping these medication. I tried taking the zoloft again and it did not work as well as the first time I took it two years ago for the panic attacks. Currently I'm not having panic attacks, just alot of anxiety over the whole breathing issue. Yes I started on the celexa maybe three days ago. Since I read there is an interaction between the randitine and celexa I have not taken the celexa last night. AGAIN I DO NOT HAVE PANIC ATTACKS. I have constant worry about how to stop this issue with the breathing.
What I don't understand is why the Gastroenterolgy who completed my upper GI procedure informed me he didn't think the breathing problem was related. That's why I'm getting a second opinion.
Correct:Lower stomach feeling like bronchial tubes are not filling completely to get a satisfying breath, you keep sighing a lot as well to breath. I am assuming its bronchial tubes I don't know all I know is it feels as if my lower stomach are have some type of spasms causing me not to breath properly. So can mild gastritis or acid reflux causing breathing problems.
It is very good that you no more have panic attacks; it is just the anxiety over the whole health issue. This is quite normal.
Ranitidine definitely decreases the efficacy of Celexa. A common side effect of both Ranitidine and celexa is muscle pain, when they are taken together the muscle pain obviously increases.
A study done on the interactions between these two drugs, say that patients on both these drugs are at high risk of getting type 2 Diabetes mellitus, chest pain, obesity, nausea, backpain and pyrexia.
Your Gastroenterologist may be right in that the breathing difficulty and the gastritis are not related to each other.
Mild gastritis or acid reflux does not cause breathing difficulty. However, a moderate amount of Gastritis with acid reflux, causes a vague discomfort in the upper abdomen and sometimes, breathing difficulty too.
I would suggest you to do lifestyle modifications by altering your diet to a bland one, taking lot of fluids orally, keeping yourself well hydrated, consuming more of fresh vegetables and fruits.
You may continue to take Ranitidine, consider stopping Celexa or Zoloft as you no longer have panic attacks. Indulge in relaxation techniques like XXXXXXX breathing, yoga and meditation. These will help you in both reducing the gastritis and breathing difficulty and also anxiety.
Please discuss regarding my suggestions with your treating doctor.
Hope, this answers your query. Please accept my answer in case you do not have further queries.
Wishing you a speedy recovery and a healthy life.
