Brief Answer:
Talk to your doctor about this!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

This drug acts like as blood thinner. If your doctor find reasons to suggest that you are at risk of having a blood clot, then he would recommend a drug for this. Not all persons get on blood thinners with age, there must be a reason. Never forget that all stroke is not caused by a clot and there are strokes caused by bleeds in the brain(25%). We use drugs to maintain and equilibrium when we feel there is a need for this.

I will recommend you ask your doctor about your risk of having a blood clot and whether he would consider a blood thinner for you. He would help you at arriving at a decision on this.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
