Creatine Level, Different Reports, Dialysis, Diabetes, Vein Enlargement. Suggest?
Question: Hi doctor one clarification we want on creatine level actually we are going for monthly checkup but the problem is we checked with creatine levels in three labs but in four labs it is showing different reports one is with 2.9, next is with 5.0, next is with 4.1 and the last one is with 6.0 how can we believe which one is correct report and to have right medication for that can u suggest what to do in this situation.. whether can u do any better treatment. please suggest the right thing some doctors are suggesting that next is dialaysis before tat one small vein has to enlarge so that thing u can do now after one or two month go for dialasis but please we cant able to judge which report is correct and what to do further totally in confusion kindly suggest in right way please i ll be greatful to you she is also diabetic patient.

In all the reports you have mentioned, 3 are are abnormal and 1 is normal.
I am assuming that the person has kidney problems because the high creatinine levels indicate renal failure. The cause for the renal failure has to be determined by furthur tests.
The values are more or less same in the 3 abnormal reports and can vary here and there in different labs.
What is important is the fact that due to high creatinine levels the person is in renal failure. For that dialysis is necessary. There is no other way. Diabetes is a possible cause for the renal shut down.
Personally,I believe that you will have to go for dialysis. Any creatinine level above 2 -3 is abnormal.
Usually before determining the use of dialysis, Creatine clearance levels are checked which is a 24 hr urine test to know the amount of creatine cleared from urine and comparing it with the creatine levels in the blood. If the creatine clearence is low that is below 30 cc then dialysis is considered.
