Hello,
You should continue to take medicines prescribed and diet suggested by your treating doctor. Swollen calf muscles and foot are indicative of
Kidney disease. It causes fluid retention and
swollen ankle, feet, calf muscles or foot. You are suggested to wear support stockings, take low salt diet, exercise your legs, stay at rest, keep your feet elevated on a stool while sitting and on a pillow when on bed. Do few minutes walking to help better blood circulation. Wear shoes / footwear that are comfortable.
Drink plenty of water to flush out nitrogenous waste products naturally. Get clinically examined by a
nephrologist and get all blood tests, urine analysis, imaging tests and kidney function tests done to detect the pathology so that the treatment can be started at the earliest. Following a proper diet is vital for preventing the progression of the disease. You are suggested to consult a nutritionist for a diet chart.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
