Do Anabolic Steroids Boost Growth?
Question: Dear Doctor, I had some anobilc steroids to boost my growth.
i have a concern that it caused my bones and knee cartilage to grow, and since knee cartilage collagen is long lived, it means the steroids has had a permanent impact. What would your advise be about this?

So though there is cartilage formation, but quality of cartilage is weak.
These cartilage will have wear and tear early as compared to normal.
Eat fresh fruits and vegetables, salad and juices to reduce side effects of steroid.

Brief Answer:
Cartilage formation is not renewable.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
Cartilage formation is not renewable. Its same for life time ones completed after adult age.
Usually degeneration starts by age of 48 to 50 yrs.
Degeneration rate depends on thickness of cartilage ,strength and its use.
Keep doing joint range of motion exercises to keep your cartilage and joint healthy.
