Brief Answer:
Travelling has no effect on
fertility.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Traveling doesn't cause slippage of eggs/sperm/embryo & doesn't affect fertility in any way. Its the
stress of daily travel which can reduce fertility slightly (but not to great extent).
Chance of
pregnancy after 6 months of unprotected sex is 70% & after 12 months its 85-90%. You have just tried for 8 months. You can safely try for another 2-3 months.
Regarding premenstrual spotting, it can indicate defective follicle formation/defective luteal phase (phase after follicle/egg rupture which supports pregnancy).
You can just do one simple blood test: Serum
progesterone 7 days before next expected date of menses (that is on 21st day of 28 days cycle). If value is >5.6ng/mL, there is nothing to worry. If its lesser, you can take simple
ovulation induction tablets like
clomiphene citrate from 2nd/3rd day of menses in consultation with a gynecologist. You may also require luteal support after follicle/egg rupture, depending on report of the same test.
One simplest & basic investigation (which is not costly), which can be done is husband's
semen analysis, normal report of which will rule out >50% problems of conception.
So summarizing, you need two basic tests, wife's serum progesterone 7 days before next expected menses & husband's semen analysis. Regarding traveling, as I told, it has no direct effect, but can reduce fertility slightly due to stress of traveling & work.
You can get back with the reports of tests advised.
Hope this helps you.
Let me know if you have other concerns.
Regards.
