Do Steroids Stimulate Collagen Protein Formation?

Question: Dear Dr, in our bodies we have proteins such as crystallin and collagen that doesnt renew. I was sad when hearing of this fact, as i read that steroids stimulate protein formation.
What if the steroid treatment i had when i was fourteen created crystallin and collagen that is still present today??
Hope you can give me factual answer to prove above wrong. I hope i am wrong.
Thanks and Best Regards

Brief Answer:
Collagen is produced continuously
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
Collagen is produced through out life.
There are fibroblasts which produce collagen continuously.
This collagen is also degraded continuously.
This is how we age.
Steroids in fact reduce collagen production and cause thinning of skin if applied for long.
Hope this clears your doubt.
Feel free to ask any other doubt.
Thank you.
