The Bactrum was used to treat staff infection(merrsa). My daughter is taking it. Her urine dip test came back positive for benzos. Someone said that Bactrum could cause a false positive and that if the sample was sent to a lab for screening it would show as Bactrum not Benzos.
Brief Answer:
Yes you are right
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the details.
Yes you are right. Dip test is a general screening test and it may many times show false positives. So can have appeared in your case. Secondly you are also right that sending it to a higher lab can help in differentiating whether it was a true test for benzodiazepines or a false positive for any other substance.
But if the lab tests also come positive, then you will have to accept the findings and start thinking in a different way.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards
