Does Ciprofloxacin Interact With Calcium, Magnesium And Vitamin D3 Supplements?
Brief Answer:
calcium and Magnesium not to be taken
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in .
By CIPRO , are you referring to the antibiotic ciprofloxacin. If the answer is yes, then it is better not to take calcium or magnesium along with cipro, because calcium and magnesium decreases effects of ciprofloxacin by inhibition of gastrointestinal absorption.
However, if it is really mandatory Ciprofloxacin can be taken 2 hr before or 6 hr after calcium /magnesium salts.
Hope this information was helpful to you,
