Does Claritin Interact With Valium?
Question: I have one allergy: ragweed. I don't take any meds for it, as it usually never causes me much problem. In Oklahoma, we have had records over the last few weeks. And I'm down! I already have a prescription that I take only on occasion for Valium 2mg (usually when I travel, as I am terrifed of planes!) Now I am preparing to leave town, and have that "stuffed" feeling in my ears and some minor burning in my nose. No chest congestion or fever, just a runny nose. No pain. But I need something I can take for this allergy. Can I take regular Claritan OTC and be able to take one Valium pill so I can travel calm? Or can they can spaced apart?
Brief Answer:
OK to take claritin with valium

You have allergies to Ragweed and now you are having increased symptoms and need to travel. While traveling you use Valium to help with the anxiety with airplanes. There is no drug to drug interactions between valium and claritan. You should have no trouble with the two causing any side effects. You could also use flonase nasal spray which would only work within your nose and would not affect valium either. Either of these treatments for allergies will be OK to take while on valium.
