Does Clindamycin Help Treat UTI?
Question: Hi, Can Clindomycin Hydrochloride be used to treat Urinary tract infections?
Brief Answer:
Clindamycin can be used but not the preferred drug!
Detailed Answer:
Hi an thanks so much for this query.
Clindamycin is not the preferred drug for the treatment of urinary tract infections. Persons use amoxicillin and ciprofloxacin several time and never develop immunity to it. I will not want to see you pass on these preferred drugs on those basis. Unless there is a documented resistance to these medications, they remain the preferred drugs for the management of urinary tract infections.
If you must not use them, then you can consider using Bactrim or Nitrofurantoin for treatment purposes of urinary tract infections.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
