Does E.coli Cause Acne?
No
Detailed Answer:
Hi, welcome to HealthcareMagic,
Acne vulgaris generally occurs at the teenage. Pathogenesis of formation of acne is complex.
Although the precise mechanisms of acne are not known, but there are four major pathogenic factors:-
1. Increased sebum production
2. Hypercornification of pilosebaceous duct
3. Abnormal bacterial function (Propionibacterium acnes)
4. Production of inflammation
E coli is also a bacteria but it is not associated with it.
There is a The Brain-Gut-Skin Theory. in this there is connection of emotional states (depression, worry and anxiety) due to altered gastrointestinal tract function, which in turn promotes local and systemic inflammation.
This linkage of emotion causes cutaneous outbreaks of erythema, urticaria and dermatitis. This is still not accepted in the pathogenesis of acne.
Hope this will help you.
