Can acnes and a swollen lymph node be related? I have 3-4 spots of deep acnes that I can feel the lumps acne. They are located right outside the swollen lymph node on my right side of the jaw. After the acnes appeared, the swollen symptom followed. Can they be related?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of acnes and a swollen lymph node around jaw area which could be multifactorial. It could be due to hormonal changes, dental infection, facial space infection, stress and change in lifestyle at times. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply combination of clindamycin gel during day time and Adapalene gel at night time. Application of Topical retinoids will be helpful to you along with topical benzoyl peroxide. Drink plenty of water. You should take oral antibiotics such as doxycycline, azithromycin or minocycline to prevent further exaggeration. Visit dermatologist/ dentist once and get it examined and you can go for session of chemical peeling/ laser therapy only after proper prescription. Doctor may prescribe you proper antibiotic course to subside infection.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
