Does HIV Antibody Test Negative After 8 Years Post Exposure Confirm Negative HIV?

Question: i have oral sex 8 years back with a guy and currently i got diabetes and i am losing weight , got some skin warts on stomach,back and on face. i tested now for HIV rapid and elfa both came non-reactive.Do i need to worry. i read somewhere after 8 years antibody test may not work out.could you please clarify my doubt. i met 2 doctors and they told dont worry.but still i am worried because of some skin warts even though doctors told that is nothing.please clarify the same.

Brief Answer: You DONOT have HIV. Detailed Answer: Hi XXXX I understand your concerns. If you had sex 8 years back and now if you have the HIV antibody test negative then most likely you do not have HIV because later the tests are done for HIV antibody more chances of antibody being present if you had HIV. Antibodies take time to develop and so i do not think you have HIV. However the skin warts you are having can be a sexually transmitted disease due to either Human Papilloma virus (HPV) or Molluscum Contagiosum. Do not worry as they are treatable and not deadly as HIV. You need the warts to be shown to a dermatologist and a biopsy needs to be done for appropriate treatment.
