Does Herbal Tea Increase Urine Production?

Question: Hello dr,
Because I have a history of pvc-induced cardiomyopathy, I am very concerned with fluid intake and output and the possibility I could be retaining fluid. All my labs are normal but I keep thinking I need my heart and kidneys need to be tested weekly or I could be sick again and not know.
Is it normal, for instance, to drink 27 ounces of herbal tea and one day urinate the full amount 90 minutes later, but the next day with no different circumstances like sweating, only urinate half the amount two
Hours later? I know we are not machines but I have become so obsessed with keeping track that I can barely think of anything else. My doctors look at my tests and tell me I'm fine.
Thank you so much,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
Herbal tea increases urine output
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
Herbal tea contains properties which increases urine output, so it is normal to urinate after such large quantities of tea.
I recommend you to cut down the amount of herbal tea you take into half the amount. Urine output depends on several factors like fluid intake, sweating, respiration, etc. One need not worry about fluid retention if the serum creatinine is normal.
I have gone through your reports, you need not worry about fluid retention.
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
Regards

Thank you so much Dr,
Is it dangerous to drink as much as I do, about 2.5L a day? And my concern is that I sometimes I urinate so much and sometimes so much less and while understanding about insensible losses, can this account for such big differences as sometimes urinating 800 ml after 27 ml herbal tea or as little as 300-400ml? I worry this is kidney disease or reocurrence of heart issue.
Thank you so much, Dr.
