Does Hydrocodone Help Cure Arthritic Hip Pain?

Question: I have been on Hydrocodone for T4T5 disc pain and had steroid shots for that within the past two months, but now I'm off Hydrocodone (Narcan) for the past two weeks and remain on Meloxicam 15mg but now I need something safe to take for my arthritic hip discomfort and would like an OTC med to help me function around the house. I can't see my GP til Monday at the earliest and need to know what to buy for right now.
Brief Answer:
Tylenol
Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.
Since you have the over the counter option only, I am afraid there aren't many alternatives. Most over the counter analgesics are of the same NSAID (non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs) class as Meloxicam so can't be taken together.
The one possibility left to add is Acetaminophen (Tylenol) either alone or if not enough its combinations with Codeine (Tylenol #3 and Tylenol #4). There may be other brands apart Tylenol with same ingredients, simply mentioned the most well-known one.
I remain at your disposal for other questions.

I really do appreciate your response and will take it under advisement when I, at last, get to see my GP asap. I'm so very tired of this chronic pain but I do know there are others who have suffered more. This getting older isn't any fun!
Brief Answer:
Hope you feel better soon.
Detailed Answer:
It is good to see that you are staying positive. Of course I mentioned over the counter options, your GP may add prescription options like Gabapentin or Duloxetin as well, commonly used for chronic pain.
Let me know if I can further assist you.
