Does I Pill Show Up In Urine Culture Test For UTI?
Levonorgestrol will not show on report
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
Dear Ms
Urine routine test only reveals microscopic examination of Urine: In your case its showing pus cells suggestive of infection.
Urine culture is done by inoculating small amount of Urine sample over culture plate to know the type of bacteria which grow and their sensitivity to antibiotics. It does not do any kind of chemical analysis , so there is no question of Levonorgestrel getting reported. Do not worry the report will only show if the growth to bacteria is positive or not.
Rest be assured there is no cause for concern.
Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Dear Ms
Urinary tract infection usually occurs due to forceful intercourse.
leading to ascending infection. The Urine culture does not reveal any bacteria which are diagnostic of sexual activity. It only reveals the bacteria which has caused the present Urinary infection.

I just got my urine culture report and it shows that I'm resistant to all first line antibiotics, resistant to 2 drugs in second line antibiotics and resistant to 1 drug in third line antibiotics, what are the complications that I could face?
What are the causes for such high resistance?
For how long will the treatment last if I start second or third line antibiotics?
Would there be any side effects after the treatment or any precautions I need to take?
Please help me,I have a really important exam coming up and I'm really panicking.
1st line of antibiotics can be started
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Dear Ms
First and foremost let me reassure there is no cause for concern. Just be relaxed.
If there is no accompanying fever then it's uncomplicated Urinary tract infection . Culture report just reveals in vitro (outside the body) sensitivity to antibiotics and in clinical practice they do respond to first line antibiotic.
I would suggest you the following
1. Ensure good intake of water : in uncomplicated Urinary tract infection ensuring good intake of water is mainstay of treatment. Consume at least 3 liter of water a day. It will help flushing out infection
2. 1st line of antibiotics can be started in consultation with your Physician. Do not worry in majority of cases they respond clinically even though the culture report shows resistance. Change in antibiotic will only be needed when the symptoms persist or fever does not subside even after initiation of antibiotic for more than three days
Do keep me updated
Take care
