Question: Does the blood pressure pill IRBESARTAN cause weight gain? Is it a diuretic?

No it does not cause weight gain.its an ARB.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX
I would like to inform you that Irbesertan belong to Angiotensin receptor blocking (ARB) group.it has its receptors mainly on blood vessels and is the most commonly and first line antihypertensive .
It's not a diuretic . Diuretics work on renal tubules.
ARBs are very well tolerated and has only few side effects . Such as
1 . headache
2.dizziness
3.rash etc.

weight gain is not observed with this drug .
