Does LEEP Procedure Affect Menstrual Cycle?
Question: 1) can the leep procedure effect your following menstral cycles? mine are reguarlary every 27 days and now i am on day 33 without it. and, no i am not pregnant.
2) what is the significance of : "Folcal High-Grade Squamous Intraepithelial lesion (at least moderate dysplasia/CIN2) inolving rare endocervical gland necks?
*something to keep in mind is that for the past 20 years i have had perfectly clean paps and have only been with and married to my husband. so, this hpv activation and change with dysplasia took pace in a one year period. it went from clean pap on year to the abnormal hpv/dysplasia need leep right away with general anesthetics. I had CIN3 and it looked like Carscinoma in situ. But, the final results of the leep show that there is no evidence of carcinoma.

1. As such the LEEP procedure does not affect the subsequent menstrual periods. It can cause bleeding / spotting with cramps. It does not cause menstrual delay. However, stress and a recent surgery can sometimes lead to an irregular period. AT 41, they would not always be like clockwork, so if pregnancy is ruled out, a delay of a few days is nothing to worry about.
2. The findings just indicate in simple words - CIN 2.

The findings come from the pathology/lab report that the doctor gave me that was a result of the leep findings.
My doctor told me she found dysplasia in some of the glands during the leep procedure and so she had to remove those. She told me they went into the canal. It seemed like she was surprised by this. She says that if and dysplasia shows up in 4 months we will just remove my cervix altogether.
Does this sound like a reasonable course of action based on your experience?
I am just wonder if because she found dysplasia in my glands if that could be an indication that if left untreated that cancer would come more rapidly then if it weren't in my glands.

See the report is basically of CIN 2 which is good, there is absolutely no indication of a florid invasive carcinoma.
IF the dysplasia recurs after a LEEP, yes more radical surgery is justified.
The cervix is entirely composed of glands, so I am confused when you say it went into the glands.
DYsplasia occurs in the glands.
I think what she meant is endocervical glands.
There are glands visible just outside, and then the endocervix - the part that goes inside towards and nearer to the uterus.
Generally dysplasia occurs on the external surface, if it goes inside the cervical canal, it is more invasive.
However if it has been adequately removed, no I do not think cancer would come in faster.
You need to be on surveillance and if dysplasia recurs, a more complete surgery is indicated.
Right now, the report is actually good news.
