Brief Answer:
Lasix can be used for hypertension as a second line agent

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

using lasix for hypertension as the sole agent in regimen is unusual. Lasix is very effective to relieve the body from excessive fluid in patients with heart failure and has antihypertensive potency when used twice (or more often) daily. It can also be used in hypertensive emergencies.

Substituting lisinopril with lasix is not recommended. Lisinopril is easier to use for hypertension compared to lasix, which will cause excessive urination, loss of fluids and electrolyte disorders in high doses.

Why would you stop lisinopril and why would you need to start lasix? Informing me about your medical history, can help me give you a more individualized answer.

Kind Regards!
