Does Levofloxacin Interact With Metronidazole?

Question: I just finished taking a 14 day prescription of antibiotics . 750 Mg Levofloxacin once daily and 500 MG Metronidazole three times daily. My Doctor gave me these to fight an infection cause from a absence acute diverticulitis with hair line cracks in the lining of my colon that caused an infection. My question is it seems as if my stool are creating more feces than the amount of food I've been eating. Its a lot of light fluffy like.my stomach has healed well from the infection but now seems a bit upset, not much pain though. what could be the cause of over growth in my stools ?
Brief Answer:
Alteration in intestinal flora;probiotics advised to take...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concern.
The upset stomach associated with increased growth in your stool is due to alteration in intestinal flora due to antibiotics use. That's a temporary situation and it will take a few more days to resolve.
Meanwhile, you can help to restore the normal microbiota through taking OTC probiotics (before meals) and antacids (after meals).
If it will persist, then, you might need anti-fungal treatment, for which, unfortunately it will need prescription by your doctor.
Hope it helped!
