Does Meloxicam Interact With Oxycodone?

Question: I have been on Oxycodone 10-325 for almost 10 years for chronic lower back pain. I finally had to get fusion surgery 3 months ago. The other day my surgeon prescribed Meloxicam 15 mg. I haven't taken any Meloxicam yet as I am concerned about taking them together.

Brief Answer:
Can be used.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Meloxicam is a very effective pain killer. I would recommend you to try it. If it does the work the oxycodone can perhaps be lowered and withdrawn.
Be sure to take meloxicam in full stomach. That will prevent gastritis from developing as a possible side effect.

Thank you for your reply.
Normally I have been doing very well, Physical therapy a lot of walking and exercise. But today I am in really bad pain. I have taken oxycodone and Meloxicam and I still really hurt. I don't know why I am hurting this bad, I didn't do anything to cause this
