Does Miralax Cause Clay Colored Stools?
Question: Does Miralax cause clay colored stools? I have a motility problem from spinal cord injury and I am supposed to take a double dose daily. I noticed my stool is clay colored now. I'm also concerned because my mom passed away from pancreatic cancer and I am brca2 positive.
Brief Answer:
Yes,Miralax can cause clay colored stool...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Miralax is a laxative. Its main action is to soften the stool and increase/ease bowel movements (BM).
The final result is frequent BM which is associated with clay colored stools.
If you have done blood tests and liver/pancreas function tests recently and they were fine, then, clay colored stools are due to Miralax.
Hope it answered to your queries!
