Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
I understand it must be very difficult to have uncontrolled diabetes. Here is what you should do
1. Strict diet. Make sure you avoid carbs and sugars
2. Exercise daily for a minimum of 30 min, walking or cycling for 30 min is the best
3. Lose weight
4. I prefer that you take pioglitazone. It is an insulin sensitizer, which means that it makes the insulin you are taking more effective
5. Changing to mixtard will not be of much use
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
Regards

Pioglitazone ( Pioz) comes as 15 mg. I usually start once a day or twice a day depending on sugar values. It is best to approach a diabetologist for a prescription.
