So your cycle may change slightly on a different brand of pill even if the active ingredients are the same.

So you probably are having what is called breakthrough bleeding, which is not harmful and can be a side effect of the pill. This does not mean the pill doesn't work to prevent pregnancy, it just may not control your menstrual cycle as the old brand.

There is really nothing to worry about if you spot before your period is due... as your body gets used to this new pill it most likely will go away after a few more months.
