Does Olmetec Interact With Xanax?

Question: I have just been prescribed Olmetec for the first time to lower BP. I have just taken 1 x 10mg of Olmetec and 1 x .25mg of zanax to lower my BP and try to stop acute panic attack but my BP is still 160/95. How long does it take to work? Should I take another 1 x 10mg of Olmetec if my BP doesn't start to come down soon? I took it 1 hour ago and BP still high. I am 49 yr old female, fit & healthy otherwise. Thank you.

It starts working in two hour after taking.
Especially if it is your first dose, it is not a good idea to take another 10 mg.
Don't worry. Your blood pressure will decrease gradually.
And you should know that you should take the medication for about the week to have the maximum effect. But the effect you will see already today.
Come back in 1.5 if you notice your blood is the same

Thank you Dr Lilit, you are very helpful. BP is coming down now. Is Olmetec safe to take with zanax? I take 1 x 0.25mg zanax whenever I get acute panic attack (1-2 times a week). My doc said its ok but some websites suggest otherwise.

There is no contraindication for taking these two medications together. Of course, we should be careful when prescribing any medications together.
