Does Paroxetine Interact With Sotalol?

Question: I'm taking for the 1st time 30 mg of paroxetine and 160 mg of sotolol. Can this combo cause me problems. i will be having surgery for A-Fib in the near future and will then get off sotolol. I'm taking paroxetine for re-occuring anxiety problem. The anxiety problem is bad right now. I just started paroxetine 3 days ago.

Regular intake of paroxetine and stall can cause dangerous interactions leading to prolongation of QT interval and serious arrhythmia (irregular heart). There are many other interactions but prolongation of QT interval is most important and together use of these medications should be avoided in absence of regular ECG monitoring.
