Does Prednisone Aggravate Renal Stone Disorder?

Question: OK, now I have another problem to deal with. I started taking prednisone 5 mg at 3 pills per days starting 5 days ago for my aforementioned undiagnosed disease. Per my doctors advice, after 3 days I am now taking two pills per day. Beginning on my second day of prednisone, I began awakening during the night with pain in my left lower mid back area. I was positive it was a kidney stone as I had one 10 years ago and this acts just like it. I went back to my gp and told him and he found some blood in my urine and wanted to do a ct scan but due to all my other health issues I have had 3 ct scans, a pt scan and some xrays and he didnt want to give me more radiation at this time. He did however take an xray which showed nothing. The pain is getting more and more severe and I am controlling it with a heat pad and ibuprofen. It comes and goes. It is usually worse by morning and gets better during the day. On the bright side, the predinisone has really helped with my swelled lymph nodes and fevers etc. My question is: could the prednisone be causing this pain in and around my left kidney? So far at worst the pain is about a 6 on scale of 10. He gave me some hydrocodone in case it gets worse. I am leaving on a trip in a few days abroad and do not want to risk it if this gets much worse. let me know .thanks.
