Does Pyridium Contain Iodine?
It is safe for you to take Pyridium if your physician prescribed.
Detailed Answer:
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!
Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I will take care all of your medical concerns.
It contains Phenazopyridine and has no Iodine in it. It is an azo XXXXXXX and affects directly on the urinary tract mucosa and relieves pain and is excreted mainly through urine unchanged.
Why you are going to take it?
It is not for infection. It is used if you have extreme pain due to Urinary tract infection. If you only have burning sensation on passing urine, take cranberry juice for that, the best remedy.
If you have to take at your own as an OTC drug it with Ciprofloxacin, I don't recommend taking it more than a day or two, as it has its own side effects, and hypersensitivity reaction being at the top.
Have a wonderful time ahead. Hope I answered all of your questions. Let me know if you have any further clinical concerns. I will be happy to get back to you shortly. If satisfied here, please give a five star rating and don't forget to close the discussion.
Regards!
