General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
A sunburn-type rash over the majority of the body can be a side effect of digoxin. It is known as a rare side effect, but it can occur. Digoxin is a medication used for various heart conditions, including atrial fibrillation, but it can also have side effects such as rash, hives, and itching.
It is important to notify the prescribing doctor if any side effects are noticed while taking medication, as they may need to adjust the dosage or switch to a different medication. If the rash becomes severe, it is important to seek medical attention right away. The doctor may recommend stopping the medication or providing treatment for the rash.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
