Does Srorfib Has Any Side Effects That Lead To Cholelithiasis?

Question: Hi:
Couple of years ago, I was diagnosed with cholelithiasis with 8mm stones. However, the gallstones disappeared & in subsequent scans.
Now, In a recent routine health checkup, I was diagnosed with Dyslipedemia (Cholestrol: 207, HDL: 28, Triglycerides: 298, VLDL: 59, LDL: 142).
The physician suggested "Storfib" for 3 monhs.
Now, my Q:
Does Srorfib has any side effects that lead to cholelithiasis??
I read somewhere that, Fenofibrates can increase cholesterol excretion into the bile, leading to risk of cholelithiasis??

Brief Answer:
Risk of cholelithiasis is there
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
Yes fenofibrate increases the excretion of cholesterol through bile and thus increase the risk of cholelithiasis. But there are many factors involved in gallstone formation.
You can take urso deoxycholic acid along with storfib which will negate the effect of fenofibrate in the formation of gallstones.
I hope that answers your question.
