Brief Answer:
it is a side effect of diurectics, no structural damage

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Torsemide is a diurectic and is used in patients like yourself with heart disease particularly heart failure.

It works through or in the kidneys and can cause an increase in creatinine along with other parameters but it does not affect or damage the kidneys.
There is no structural change in the kidneys.

It is thought to be related to filtering at of fluids and products in some aspect of the kidneys but there is no structural kidney damage.

Unfortunately this is a side effect of many diuretic medications.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

What is probably the major cause for the Creatinin to jump from 1.8 to 2.8? Could it be increased use of the drug Torsemide?

Brief Answer:
yes, the increased use can cause the creatinine levels to rise

Detailed Answer:
HI

Yes, the torsemide, like other diurectics can unfortunately cause the creatinine to increase. If the dose or frequency has increased then this can cause the creatinine levels to rise.

It is one of the possible side effects that can occur with these medications.

It is not due to damage to the structure of the kidneys but due to problems with filtering the creatinine
