Brief Answer:
yes, it can help with the pain

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Tramadol is a strong pain medication and may help with the pain. Please be aware that it is considered a narcotic and is addictive. Also you should not take it if you have ever had a seizure.
Warm compresses and stretching are also a good treatments for shoulder bursitis. Stretching the arms to the back so that the chest opens up is particularly helpful. Good posture and not rolling the shoulders forward can help prevent this in the future. Stretches should be held for at least one minute in each positiion. If available a physical therapist may also be able to help release the area and speed healing.
Regards,
Dr. Robinson
