Question: could valsartan cause u have scratch in throat and a cough afther taking med for 2 months then just last few weeks started this.thought may be allergy but never had allergy before .

Hello,
It can cause cough in your setting as well. But, before considering it also rule out any rhinitis and running nose, gastritis and reflux disease which are also common causes.
If cough is troublesome and doesn't decrease in one to two weeks it's better to change valsartan to other antihypertensive medicine like Amlodipine. Hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts.
