Question: Can a dental abscess cause tongue numbness. It's under my tongue.

The numbness is on just one side of my tongue on the side where the abscess it and it is swelled only on that one side underneath and it's only been about 24 hours that it's been numb. I have been on Amoxicillin for 5 days now
