Does A Lump On Scrotum Post Unprotected Sex Indicate Syphilis?
Question: Hi, I recently had unprotected sex with a stranger which I know is wrong. Not long after a spot appeared on my scrotum. Without thinking I popped the spot and a white puss came from it, and over the next few days it healed. From my description does this sound like a syphikis chancre?
Brief Answer:
Infection appears to be due to pyogenic bacteria
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
Syphilis has incubation period of 2-3 weeks.
The chancre of syphilis is a hard, indurated, and painless ulcer.
It is usually not associated with any discharge.
Lymph node enlargement is also usually not seen during this stage.
Pus discharge from the lesions suggests a pyogenic infection i.e. infection caused by pus forming bacteria.
Syphilis bacteria is not pus forming.
However, it would be more helpful if you could upload the photograph of the lesion.
At the same time you can get serological tests for syphilis.
Thanks
