Does A Pinched Nerve Cause Weakness In Hands?

Question: My left hand feels weak for the last few days and especially I feel it when i type. It feels like I can't control it properly. When I start typing it feels like my fingers or my palm go a bit out of control. My grab is somewhat weaker than the other hand. I have been very busy and traveling and exhausted. It started right after this. Is this a pinched nerve or could it be sign of something else?
Brief Answer:
It can be early cervical spondylitis
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think it can be early spondylitis. I cause compression of nerves in the neck and that causes weakness and numbness. But before I advise you any thing I want to know few detail of your illness.
1. Are you having any neck pain or giddiness?
2. Do you use laptop for long hours?
3. Do you play any sport or gym?
Please send me answers of these questions. I will try my best to help you.
Thanks.

I do sit in front of the computer long time.
I currently don't have any neck or back pain at all.
I haven't been actively playing any sports in a while due to a recent ACL injury.
I did travel overseas on a plane for more than 12 hours. And this started right after I got back a few days ago.
I can't remember whether I slept on my hand or not.
I do not have any pain really. It is just weakness I feel when I type, my grab is weak. And when I type it feels like my palm is opening up and my fingers do not have much control. Like their motion slows down. And i sometimes feel a weird sensation going through my wrist.
oh i forgot to say, i got a bit sick after the trip. my nose is running and I feel nausea and light headedness as well for the last few days too.

Brief Answer:
You need to get EMG test
Detailed Answer:
Hello, I have studied your case in detail and I am sure that it is due to nerve compression. This compression can take place at two site. One is neck as i mentioned before. It can be initiated by a long journey or keeping your neck in same position for long time.
As both these situation are there in your case so cervical spondylitis can be a possibility.
Second can be nerve compression at wrist, known as carpel tunnel. It is also common in female, specially involved in typing or desk job.To find out the cause , you need clinical examination and EMG testing.
So please get this test as soon as possible. In my patients with similar complains I have following suggestions.
1.Tablet Pregabalin and Methylcobal daily to improve nerve strength.
2. Soft collar to give support to neck muscles.
3. Special Pad/splints available where your hand can rest during working on laptop.
I hope these measures will help you. Let me know if there is any other queries.
Thanks
