Question : I dropped a Xanax on the floor and can't find it. I'm afraid my two yr old might. how dangerous is this. Should I take him to 4th he er if he invests it?
Brief Answer:
Should take him to the ER if the child seems drowsy
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Xanax (alprazolam) is an anxiolytic and sedative. If your two year old takes it you would observe increased sleepiness in the child. However, in such a case it would be advisable to visit the ER since such medicines can lead to respiratory depression.
Let me know if I could help further.
