Brief Answer:
Tooth abscess

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

An abscess usually cannot spread as it is well encapsulated. However the infection around it can spread to involve the opposing cheek, throat and the jaw. It cannot involve the eye or the brain unless the infection moves into the blood stream causing sepsis.
If the patient is on antibiotics and it is spreading then it is a sign that the organism is resistant to that particular antibiotics which needs to be changed over to another antibiotic.
The abscess might need to be drained as well. I recommend you go the your regular dentist after taking an appointment, going to the ER might not be necessary at the moment.

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
