Does Alcohol Affect The GGT Test Result?
Question: i took analisys for ggt and i take paracetamol with alcohol and ggt at 98 could paracetamol alter the analysis
Brief Answer:
Alcohol, paracetamol, and lipid lowering meds can all increase GGT.
Detailed Answer:
GGT is one of the tests of liver function and can definitely increase from alcohol use. In addition, paracetamol can make this worse. Lipid lowering medications can also increase GGT.
I suggest you avoid alcohol and have your GGT tested again in 1 month.
Also, in general, paracetamol should not be taken with alcohol as it compounds the possibility for liver toxicity.
Good luck and I hope this answers your question.
