Does Alcohol Affect The Accuracy Of An STD Test?

Question: Hi Doctor,
I went for STD test Antibodies to HIV, HCV, HBsag, VDRL in the morning. Last night that is 8 hours before giving bloodfor STD i took 3 large of alcohol.
Please tell me doctor whether the alcohol I took 8 hours before giving blood for STD test will change my actual result?
2) To find Hepatitis B infection HBsag alone is sufficient or I have to do anti HBC test also.
3) For Syphilis just VDRL is sufficient?
My exposure was just one which was 3 years back

Brief Answer:
Alcohol doesn't affect the reliability of STD tests.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX.
I have gone through your query.
Responding to your first question that is drinking and STD results -- as far as I know, it does not affect the reliability of STD tests.
HBsAg and VDRL are reliable screening tests.
HBsAg positive result means person is infected with virus, which may be acute or chronic infections.
VDRL is screening test for syphilis.
Initially these tests are sufficient.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
