Does Antibiotics Increase Bleeding?

Question: My gf had last period on 24th march... She has been having withdrawal bleeding date for the past three days from emergency contraceptive pill taken last week within 18 hrs of sex during pre ovulatory phase( 31st march)...My question is now I have a mild gastrointestinal infection and diarrhea for which I am taking antibiotics. Will that increase the bleeding?
So is there any chance that bleeding increases due to antibiotics? And if not..
Then when will the bleeding stops ?
Please help me..

Brief Answer:
Bleeding will last for 3-4 days.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us about it.
I can understand your concerns.
Usually bleeding is not increased by antibiotics but for better opinion I want to know the name of antibiotics which you had.
Withdrawal bleeding due to I-pill can subside or decrease in 3-4 days, if it will increase after that and associated with any pain and dizziness, you should consult a Gynaecologist for the same.
Hope it is useful, feed free to discuss more.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Regards

Thank you doctor for your prompt response. I am taking ofloxacin and ornidazole for the infection. Will these affect the bleeding?
Brief Answer:
No they will not affect the bleeding.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You are most welcome.
No, it will not increase vaginal bleeding.
If you are taking any type of anticoagulant (like warfarin) then it will decrease it effects and cause more bleeding.
But as such it will not interact with emergency pills and do not increase vaginal bleeding.
Hope it is useful.

My cycles are very irregular. They range from 28- 45 days. So its really difficult for me to know when I'm ovulating. Or when my next period is due. I would like to avoid using emergency contraceptives so is there any reliable way to know about my safe period?
Brief Answer:
You can use ovulation prediction kit.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Sorry for the long delay in my response.
You can use ovulation prediction kit to know your ovulation period, the period 3-4 days before and 1-2 days after considered as a most fertile days( or unsafe period).
Precautions are must during these days.
No period is considered 100% safe for unprotected sex so better you should use regular method of contraception to avoid pregnancy.
Usually ovulation occur 14 days before your expected period date in 28 days cycle ( on 14th day).
Hope it is useful.
