Does Bicornuate Uterus Affect Pregnancy?
Endometrial evaluation needed
Detailed Answer:
Hallow Dear,
I do empathize your situation. Your anxiousness is justified.
Bicornuate uterus per se usually does not affect the fertilization or implantation; however, it may cause abortions or loss of pregnancy due to failure to continue due to reduced capacity of the uterus. In your wife's case, there seems to be difficulty in implantation of the fertilized ovum, whether natural, by IVF or by Frozen Embryo Transfer. To me, the fault appears to be in the endometrium.
Please submit her to ultrasonography ovulation monitoring. Around and on the day of ovulation, please measure the endometrial thickness. Endometrium between 9 mm to 14 mm thickness only is most conducive for implantation of the fertilized blastocyst. Also find out the three layer development of the endometrium at that time. You may please upload the reports and images for my review. After ruling out or detecting the endometrial issue, the option of utriculoplasty or septum resection may be considered, not before that.
She is having endometriosis; hence the possibility of some endometrial factor is very high.
For any more information, I am always available for you, Sir.
