Does Caffeine Increase Acid Secretion In Stomach?

Question: excessive stomach acid. I drink a few cups of starbucks coffee and eat a lot of salads.
Brief Answer:
I will suggest you cut down on coffee!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this excessive stomach acid. Coffee increases acid secretion and am therefore not surprised that this is happening to you. I will strongly discourage against coffee as this only makes the condition worse. Continue with Tums and Zantac as this would help in the interim as you taper off the coffee.
